At the Mobile World Congress 2026 (MWC 2026), Taisys Technologies introduced dMID (de-Identified Mobile ID) and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Japan Communications Inc. (JCI) to jointly promote the deployment of this technology in the Japanese telecommunications market.
The partnership aims to establish a mobile identity authentication mechanism that does not rely on phone numbers, helping reduce fraud and identity theft risks associated with traditional OTP authentication methods. The system also provides Human-in-the-Loop verification services for AI agents, addressing the growing cybersecurity concerns brought about by the rapid development of artificial intelligence.
Taisys Chairman Jason Ho stated that the rapid rise of artificial intelligence is reshaping industries and digital ecosystems worldwide. As AI becomes deeply integrated into online systems, new security threats and forms of cybercrime will emerge at unprecedented speed.
The dMID (de-Identified Mobile ID) system announced by Taisys at MWC centers around an eSIM Identity Wallet, designed to address fraud risks associated with traditional SMS verification codes. The system also introduces an AI Agent authorization mechanism with real human verification, establishing a secure identity authentication infrastructure for the AI era.
At the same time, dMID addresses the three key pillars of digital identity systems: secure identity authentication, user privacy protection, and personal data sovereignty. Taisys will collaborate with telecom partners to operate a decentralized token economy ecosystem, enabling telecom operators to create new revenue streams while allowing users to share in the value of the digital economy.
Fukuda, President and Representative Director of Japan Communications Inc., commented that their mission is to rebuild trust on the internet. JCI and Taisys have worked together for decades to integrate digital identity into smartphones, and they have successfully obtained official certification for digital identification in Japan.
Through the newly introduced dMID de-identified mobile identity system, the partnership will help restore trust in the online world, representing a major innovation for society.
